Video blog

Context: Undergraduate, Management, Medium cohort size (30-99 students), 20% weighted.

Students present an element of theory as a video blog. Students then provide anonymous feedback to three other student videos and they are evaluated on the alignment of their feedback with that of the marker as well as the way in which they present and address the theory topic they submitted. Feedback is one of the theoretical elements of the course.

Challenges in this type of online assessment include:

  • Students who wish to complete one part of the assessment (provide a video blog, or provide feedback to others) but not both
  • Some students may not provide the feedback to their peers, resulting in less feedback overall (primarily from the tutor).
